  JAG students spent Thursday, September 1, 2016 helping the residents of Kokomo that were struck by the tornado on August 24.  Before travelling to Kokomo, these students collected bottled water and monetary donations during a home football game.  The students worked the whole day raking and picking up debris to assist.   Way to go!!!!


Hoosier JAG Specialist Receives Honor

Hartford City, IN (August 2016)– Indiana’s Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) specialist, Melissa Fritz, from Indiana’s Region 6 was nationally recognized for her efforts in increasing graduation rates, post-secondary education and finding employment. She was honored at the 36th Annual JAG National Training Seminar in Orlando.  Superintendent, Scot Croner, PhD, of the Blackford County Schools stated, "We are very proud of Melissa Fritz for her selection as the 2016 Indiana JAG Specialist of the year.  Mrs. Fritz is an outstanding educator that constantly strives to provide the best instruction and support for her students."  Mike Row, President/CEO for Alliance for Strategic Growth, Inc., responded, "Melissa Fritz is a gifted leader whose investment in the lives of Blackford County High School JAG students will have a positive, multi-generational impact.  On behalf of the Eastern Indiana Workforce Development Board and Alliance for Strategic Growth, Inc., I offer my sincere gratitude to Melissa for her selfless efforts in making our region a better place.  I also congratulate Melissa and her family on this well-deserved award."  Janet White, Region 6 JAG Manager, commented, " We are fortunate to have Melissa Fritz on our very talented JAG Team in Region 6.  She is truly passionate about helping young adults transition into life after high school.  She does whatever it takes to equip her JAG students to succeed.  Whether it is team-building, practicing leadership skills or financial literacy in the classroom or sending them out to Work Experiences or service learning projects in the community or encouraging them to stay in college, she makes sure JAG students have the training and opportunities they need to succeed.  I am very happy that she had the opportunity to be recognized for her good work!"  Congratulations, Melissa!

Wayne County Sheriff Partners with Alliance for Strategic Growth


Richmond, IN (July 12, 2016) – The Wayne County Sheriff, Jeff Cappa, agreed to offer WorkKeys testing (accesses job-readiness skills) to inmates that are within 30 days of their release date.  By helping to analyze workplace skills, this helps organizations make reliable decisions about hiring and training workers.  Mike Row, President/CEO of Alliance for Strategic Growth said, "This partnership is going to really help give these individuals a chance to be part of the workforce again, and we are really eager to work with employers to get them involve in this program.  This is going to be a great asset for our community as we fight to help people find jobs and get back on their feet."
